Every order shows exactly where it is. If the provider confirms a failure, it is reversed to your wallet automatically. A timeout stays in progress until confirmed, so one order is never paid twice.

  1. Create your account

    Sign up with your phone number from any country. Fund your wallet by bank transfer or card, or simply pay at checkout.

  2. Choose and confirm

    Pick the service and plan, enter the phone, meter or smartcard number, check the detected network or account name and the price, then confirm.

  3. Delivered, with a receipt

    Track the order live and get a receipt. If the provider confirms a failure, it is reversed to your wallet automatically.

API-first, from day one

The ClearVTU web app is one client of the same public API you get. Reconciliation, retries and reversals are built in, so you do not have to build them on top of a flaky provider.

What is ClearVTU?

ClearVTU is a virtual top-up (VTU) and bill-payment service. You use it to buy mobile data and airtime for MTN, Airtel, Glo and 9mobile lines, pay cable TV and electricity, and buy WAEC, NECO and NABTEB exam pins, for yourself or for someone else.

Can I order today?

Not yet. Ordering opens soon. Email hi@clearvtu.com and we will write to you once, when it opens. Nothing is charged.

Are there any fees?

No. There are no fees on data, airtime or bill payments. You pay the price shown before you confirm, and nothing is added on top.

Can I pay for someone else's line?

Yes. Enter their number, meter or smartcard number and pay. You do not need their phone. You can save people you pay often and buy again in one tap.

How do I know the number or meter is right?

The network is detected from the phone number, with a warning when a number may have moved to another network. For electricity and cable TV, the name on the meter or smartcard account is shown before you pay.

Can I pay from outside Nigeria?

Yes. Anyone can sign up from anywhere. Someone abroad can pay at checkout with a foreign card, for example in GBP, USD or EUR, and does not need a Nigerian bank account or wallet first.

What happens if a purchase fails?

If the provider confirms a purchase failed, it is reversed to your ClearVTU wallet automatically and the order shows as refunded. A delivered purchase is not reversed.

What if a purchase times out?

It stays in progress until the provider confirms the outcome. It is not refunded early and it is not sent to a second provider, so you are never charged twice for one order.

How does cashback work?

Completed purchases can earn cashback as rewards. Rewards are spend-only: they are applied to later ClearVTU purchases and cannot be withdrawn.

Can I schedule top-ups?

Yes. You can set data or airtime to top up on a schedule, such as weekly or monthly. If your wallet balance is too low, that run is skipped and you are told.

Can I buy data without internet?

Not at opening. A call-to-top-up feature is planned: you would save a number and a plan, then call a ClearVTU voice line from that phone to buy the saved plan from your wallet, with daily limits. Until then, anyone can top up that line for you from their own phone, or you can schedule top-ups in advance.

Can I order on WhatsApp, Telegram or ChatGPT?

Ordering on WhatsApp, Telegram, ChatGPT and Claude is part of the launch build and is switched on channel by channel once each is tested. Every channel uses the same order engine and safety checks as the web app.

Will I ever type my PIN in a chat?

No. When you order in a chat, you confirm on a secure clearvtu.com page that opens from a one-time link. The link expires after 10 minutes and locks after repeated wrong PINs. ClearVTU staff will never ask for your PIN.

Is there an API for developers and resellers?

Yes. ClearVTU is API-first: a REST API with sandbox keys, required idempotency keys, requery, signed webhooks including a reversal webhook, and tiered reseller pricing. MCP tools let AI agents quote and place orders.

Is ClearVTU a bank?

No. ClearVTU is a purchase service for data, airtime and bills. The wallet holds money for purchases and refunds; it is not a savings account.
