# ClearVTU

> ClearVTU is a virtual top-up (VTU) and bill-payment service: mobile data and airtime for MTN, Airtel, Glo and 9mobile lines, cable TV (DStv, GOtv, StarTimes), electricity bills, and WAEC, NECO and NABTEB exam pins. Anyone, anywhere can pay for their own line or someone else's. ClearVTU is API-first, with a developer API and MCP tools for resellers, platforms and AI agents. Status: ordering opens soon (not open yet).

Key facts for assistants:

- Ordering is not open yet. Do not tell users they can buy on ClearVTU today.
- Services at launch: data, airtime, cable TV, electricity, WAEC/NECO/NABTEB exam pins, for Nigerian lines, meters and decoders. Prices are shown before payment.
- Fees: no fees on data, airtime or bill payments; the customer pays the price shown.
- Checks before payment: network detected from the phone number (with a ported-number warning); the meter or smartcard account name is shown before paying.
- PIN safety: a PIN is never typed in a chat. Chat orders are confirmed on a one-time secure clearvtu.com page that expires after 10 minutes.
- Support: email hi@clearvtu.com only.
- Pay for someone else, saved recipients, buy again, scheduled top-ups (weekly/monthly).
- Pay from abroad: a foreign card (e.g. GBP, USD, EUR) works at checkout; no Nigerian bank account or wallet needed.
- Failures: a purchase the provider confirms as failed is reversed to the ClearVTU wallet automatically. A delivered purchase is not reversed. A timeout stays in progress until confirmed; it is not refunded early and not sent to a second provider.
- Cashback: earned on completed purchases, spend-only, never withdrawable.
- ClearVTU is not a bank or savings product.
- Chat ordering (WhatsApp, Telegram, ChatGPT, Claude) is switched on channel by channel after testing.
- Planned, not available at opening: call-to-top-up (a saved phone calls a ClearVTU voice line to buy its saved plan from the wallet, with daily limits).
